Hackberry heartwood is light brown to gray. Wide sapwood is a contrasting light yellow. It’s overall appearance is similar to ash and it’s sometimes used in place of ash. Hackberry has generally good working characteristics with both hand and machine tools, though smaller pieces with knots, or sections with interlocked grain can pose challenges in machining. It glues, turns, stains, and finishes well. Common uses include furniture, boxes/crates, veneer, turned objects, and bent parts.These blanks are green/undried and are fully sealed with wax. 6" x 3" Round Bowl Turning Blank.
